KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Review 2024: Pros&Cons, Features Table, Search Trends and Competitors
KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is a VPN software developed by Vasilly Ivanov and Oleg Bocharnikov as recently as 2013. It started with a mere 2 servers, one in the US and another in the Netherlands, and has grown rapidly in the six years since its inception to over 3000 servers across 80 countries. Along with a wide array of accessibility options and support for the most popular streaming giants, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited also offers military-grade encryption complimented by its proprietary solution KeepSolid Wise which makes the user’s traffic yet harder to detect and block. KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is connectible up to 5 devices (with the ability to add more) and supported on all the commonly used platforms making it all the more alluring.

When it comes to cybersecurity, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited ticks all the right boxes by employing robust encryption methods and OpenVPN protocols to make your traffic secure and mask your IP address. 256-bit AES is the industry standard for data encryption, used even by the military of the USA and several other countries, and the same has been used judiciously by KeepSolid. The software relies on the very secure OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec, and IKEv2 protocols with an RSA-2048 cryptographic handshake to provide its users with the most dependable security possible. The app masks your IP address and replaces it with a virtual IP address so that your internet activity cannot be tracked by third parties or advertisers.
KeepSolid VPN Unlimited goes one step further by utilizing a proprietary solution KeepSolid Wise which is, in fact, an extension to the OpenVPN tunneling protocol intended to help the VPN software bypass VPN blocking. Using Wise technology, KeepSolid routes the VPN traffic via TCP 443 and UDP 33434 ports to make user traffic nigh impossible to detect and block either by the user’s ISP or by any Government agency. In countries with Draconian cyber regulations, the KeepSolid Wise is a very handy addition to the standard encryption protocols.
KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Logging Policy
KeepSolid VPN claims to not keep any usage logs or private data logs for any kind of use. Information such as websites visited, web contents accessed or download, password, and payment details are not tracked or stored. However, they do keep a record of technical data such as duration of a session, browser used, system information, and ISP (Internet Service Provider) among other such trivial things which in my opinion do not leak any private data. They also do not store such data after a session has concluded and they do not sell such data to any third parties such as advertisers. They only use such data to improve the overall product and user experience. So if you are not too nitty-gritty about such technical details then there is no reason to worry as your personal information remains safe and you can truly browse the web anonymously.
There are detailed privacy and data policies on their website which, I believe, any interested user should go through thoroughly before buying as I did. They specifically claim to not keep a log of private data in ‘KEEPSOLID’S VPN SERVICES – NO LOGGING POLICY’.
As explained in this Section 2(D), KeepSolid does NOT monitor, store, or log your internet activities (including the internet sites that you visit) while using any of our VPN Services, except the total amount of internet traffic for each session and session dates (this data is collected only if you use personal servers or personal IP address). KeepSolid also stores the number of connected devices for each account – this data is monitored to enforce the maximum device limits. This data can be assessed in the User Office, where you may remove devices from your account.
They further add:
Certain personal data collected by us automatically (i.e. IP address, connection type, browser type and operating system) is stored only for the duration of your session in the VPN Services. This means that KeepSolid never stores or logs these categories of personal data after the end of your session in our VPN Services – we delete such personal data after your session ends.
KeepSolid VPN Unlimited: Installation and Ease of Use
KeepSolid VPN Unlimited has a very simple interface which is easy to understand and operate. Downloading and installing the app does not require any special training or prior knowledge of how a VPN works. The steps are fairly straightforward and there are useful guides for each platform or device on the website if you fail to install the app on your own. The FAQ section lists many common and pertinent questions along with the solution. You can also troubleshoot any problem not listed in the FAQ section right on the website. Finally, you can take help of the 24/7 live chat support to clear any remaining doubts.
To download and install the KeepSolid VPN Unlimited software on your device, visit their website and click on ‘Get VPN now’ or something on that line. It will redirect you to the ‘Pricing’ page where you can see the different plans. First, choose the maximum number of devices you want to connect (5 or 10). I choose 5 since I have only 4 devices that I needed to connect. Choose an appropriate plan to progress to the ‘Login’ page where you either ‘Log in’ as an existing user or ‘Sign up’ as a new user. You can also log in through your Facebook or Google account. Once you have signed up you will be prompted to choose your preferred payment option, which includes Credit Cards (both VISA and MasterCard), PayPal, AmazonPay, Bitcoins, and even Gift cards. After you have chosen your desired payment options you need to enter the relevant details. Once the payment process is cleared you have to choose the device on which you want to download the VPN app. When the download completes run the app to install it. Connecting to a server after installation is very easy and you can change servers if required.
Can You Access Social Networking Websites?
Yes, social media sites can be easily accessed via KeepSolid VPN Unlimited and you can also browse anonymously on such sites without having to worry about trackers or hackers snooping on your account. The most popular social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can be accessed through the KeepSolid app. Even if you are in China, you can access such blocked sites by connecting to any one of five servers available for Chinese users- US, UK, Denmark, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Chinese users are also advised to use devices that support the KeepSolid Wise protocol. With the Wise protocol, it becomes very easy to bypass the great Chinese Firewall.
Advertisements on social media sites are blocked by the paid KeepSolid VPN app but the free version does no such thing. Advertisers also cannot track your IP address or detect your activity while you are on a social media site.
Anyone who has ever used a VPN will know that browsing speed decreases considerably when connected to a VPN server compared to when it is not connected. Still, speed is decent enough in most standard VPN providers for a user to browse and stream videos comfortably without buffering. I tested KeepSolid VPN Unlimited speed on a number of servers using SpeedTest and the results were satisfactory. Servers in Asia could not perform as well on the speed tests as their EU or USA counterparts. Even the EU servers were slower than the ones in the USA, Canada, and the UK. I recorded the best speed while connected to the London server in UK, which logged an average download speed of over 85Mbps. Servers in the US and EU logged average speeds of around 50 Mbps.
Streaming videos on YouTube and Netflix was smooth in my experience with an occasional lag which should not be a big deal considering the unrestricted access the app offers to many geo-restricted contents across the globe.
Keeping all the numbers and the specs aside, how well the market has accepted the VPN product? To understand this, I took recourse to Google Trends. Although Google Trends was not specifically designed for SEOs and content marketers, it helps marketers keep tab on the latest search data.
I did a brief search on the Google Trends website and found that the interest graph over time has been pretty much like a roller coaster ride. Sometimes, the product’s interest has dropped massively, and occasionally, it has gone through the roof. The overall 5 years trend is upword though not as like some best VPN services on the market.
I got similar results with the keywords “KeepSolid VPN Unlimited”, “Buy KeepSolid VPN Unlimited”, and “KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Review”.
In comparison to its nearest rivals Keepsolid VPN Unlimited didn’t show good results. The VPN service is far beyond some mastodons like PureVPN, PIA VPN and ExpressVPN so I don’t even want to show you the comparison graph. So I took a couple of VPN which are similar in popularity with Keepsolid, namely PrivateVPN and Perfect Privacy.
Even though Keepsolid VPN Unlimited hasn’t managed to beat its rivals in search popularity it still has potential as starting spring 2022 it shows upward trend.

There are three price points and even a lifetime unlimited access offer. There also offer a 7-day free trial and a 7-day money-back guarantee, just in case, the app cannot impress you within a week. If you binge on online shows then KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is the one to choose as it offers users unlimited access to top sites such as BBC, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and ESPN among others. There is no bandwidth limit or throttling from the VPN or your ISP.
The KeepSolid VPN Unlimited manages to do whatever it promises and more. It is, in my opinion, an all-round VPN service if you can deal with the above average speed its servers provide. Connect to the right server, however, and you will get decent speed as I managed. The data privacy policy is well laid out and clear about the kind of personal data it collects and how the app uses such data. The minimal logging did not bother me and if you are looking for a VPN app with practical uses then I suggest you go for it.
The only thing that bothered me is a buggy macOS client which leads to sporadic DNS leaks even with a stable connection. The KeepSolid team is currently working on it and a fix is expected even as this review is being written. The kill switch, in my experience, is a tad slow leading to IPv6 leaks while switching servers. The kill switch does not activate immediately and takes a few seconds to respond which is enough to leak your IP address. If these issues do not bother you too much and Netflix is your prime concern then KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is a solid VPN app for you. Otherwise, you may consider TorGuard which is a little faster and more secure but costs extra for Netflix.
